The DIY Hair Mask You Need To Try Before You Chop Your Hair

I never thought I'd live to see a pandemic. The situation around the world is crazy!

On a positive note, it gives us all some time to slow down and focus on our mental, physical and spiritual health.

I'm on a mission to revive my super damaged hair. I'm also baking and reading more which makes my soul happy, so Yay!

The first thing I did was trim my ends. Something as small as a trim can make a huge difference in the appearance of your hair. My hair instantly looked healthier and thicker with a tiny little trim. 

If your hair is colour damaged, dry and frizzy, try this homemade mask for 2 weeks! This seriously works! My hair is softer and shinier. I've also noticed my hair looks straighter naturally. Be careful with this mask if you don't want to lose your natural curls. The ingredients can make your hair straighter. 

You will need 3 ingredients,
Coconut milk
Egg Yolks (1 for short hair, 2 for long hair)
Any oil (coconut, olive oil, castor oil, almond oil)

How to make this mask

Make this mask depending on your hair length. For my chest length hair, I used 2 whisked egg yolks and then added maybe half a cup of coconut milk. Mix well and then add 3-4 tablespoons of any oil of your choice. I added olive, coconut and castor oil together in my mask. You can use any oil you have on hand. 

Leave it on for 30-45 mins only. You can't leave this mask for longer because the egg yolks will dry out your hair. This is a protien mask so you have to be careful with the timing. Wash off with warm water (not hot) and shampoo and condition your hair as well. 

Coconut milk is available in supermarkets and in baqalas. You can get a can for 3 riyals and depending on your hair length you can use one small can for 1-2 masks. For my hair length I used half a can for one mask and then stored it in the fridge to make my next mask a few days later. 

Coconut milk is amazing for your hair and this along with the egg is what makes the hair straighter naturally. 

You can make this mask without the coconut milk too but I highly recommend you get a few cans and store them because you will want to make this mask again and again. 

To see a result you need to try this mask atleast 2-3 times.

I noticed results after 2 masks. You can use this mask up to 2 times in 1 week. So, every 3 days or so put on the mask for 30 mins and wash off. Once you start seeing a difference you can apply the mask once a week.
