Ramadan Mubarak! I'm Back! Updates & My Lasik Eye Surgery Experience!

Hello and Ramadan Mubarak! I feel so awkward blogging again. I took a loooong break from blogging because of life. Life happened. I got a new job, my family moved to Jeddah from Riyadh, I've also been trying to change my lifestyle. Lots of things have changed, I've changed. Hence, the break.

To be honest, I felt like this blog wasn't that useful for anyone. I lacked the motivation to write again. I was getting comments from lots of disappointed people asking me why I don't write anymore. So, today I decided there is just no reason not to. I do enjoy blogging and there are so many things I want to share!

If you've any blog post requests, leave them in the comments below.

Update 1: I got Lasik Eye Surgery done here in Jeddah in January. I absolutely hated wearing contacts/glasses. So, Alhamdullilah that has been one of the highlights of my year.

Lasik surgery in Jeddah is expensive. You will pay around 8000-12,000 SR for this eye correction surgery. For those who don't know Lasik surgery is a surgical procedure to correct near or far sightedness, My vision was pretty bad and it was getting worse! My left eye was -4.75 and right eye -5.00. I decided to get the surgery done when I saw an offer on Cobone.com for 3,999 SR.

Initially, I was a bit skeptical. But, once I visited Dr. Batal Eye and Laser Center all my fears were gone. The center was professional and my doctor was amazing! Dr. Baraa Faham performed my surgery and guided me pre and post recovery. Below is an overview of experience without any technical details. If you would like a detailed post, let me know.

Days before the surgery they performed all kinds of tests to make sure my eyes are suitable to undergo the procedure. I probably ate up all the information available online about lasik surgeries. That freaked me out even more! The surgery itself lasted 10 mins. They put anesthesia drops in my eyes and then used a tool that prevented me from blinking. After that, I had to look at a light for a few mins and the laser did its thing. I walked out with swollen, watery eyes but my vision was instantly perfect!!! It was the best feeling in the world! I've been wearing glasses since I was in 5th grade so being able to see without glasses or contacts was nothing short of a miracle.

The recovery wasn't easy. I had to take painkillers. It was intense. So, that was four months ago. My eyes are mostly recovered except the dry eyes side effect. I'm treating it naturally with castor oil. Castor oil has been a life saver!

Here is a link to the Cobone voucher I bought. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway. I know some of you are going to ask. So, here is a direct link https://www.cobone.com/en/deals/wellness-jeddah/dr-batal-lasik-sar3999/57964.

Update 2: Two months ago I started full body laser hair removal at home. I will write a detailed post with my experience and tips.

Update 3: I lost 6 kilos and I'm officially on a fitness journey to my first abs!

Let me know what you would like to read more of in the comments of this blog post.

I hope you all are having a great Ramadan!

Until next time,

xo Saadia
